But bold king Leonidas stood on the mountains of Sparta thinking about the code of the Spartan ( Come home with your Shield, or come home on it.) For the morning of day is the first battle against the first wave of Persians. The Spartans grab their pikes and shields and head to the opening of cliff and proper for the attack. King Leonidas pulls his Spartans together and makes a wall of shields, so the Persians attack was useless and the Spartans push them right of the edge of the cliff. The Spartans celebrated their first victory as the Persians tyred to figure out how they lost. With this defeat Xerxes the leader of the Persians want to meet with the Spartan King. They on neutral terrain and said what they had to said to get Leonidas to surrender, but Leonidas Insulated him instead. So he goes back to camp and tells his men to prepare for a long night of attacks. The Spartans make their weapons ready as the strongest of Xerxes army is about to attack, his Immortals. As Leonidas said "If they are immortal, we will put their name to the test."
