This is a view from a fan who wrote a review of the movie sacflyzone
Rest assured, Iron Man is an absolutely amazing movie. I won't dare spoil any of this remarkable movie for you but I do recommend it as highly as I possibly can. Marvel needed to get in to the solo movie making business long ago. Instead of leasing out their characters to other studios, they're making movies themselves. Most everyone knows Iron Man is their first effort and what a great lead off film! This movie helps take the comic book genre to the highest level. Just like they did in the books, they reinvent standard epic adventure by "Marvelizing" characters and making them more believable. The Spider-Man and the X-Men movies did this to a degree but only as far as their respective studios wished to stay true to the source material. Anything added or amended was for the benefit of the live action adaptation. Director Sam Raimi pulled this off by talking to the summer crowd, not down to them with the Spider-Man series. Jon Favreau has done the same thing here but I think he's done it even better. Raimi intentionally threw in a little cheese. Favreau adds nice bits of humor but not too much. He also grounds the action and the suit of armor in firm reality. I've said it before but it's brave to reach for the highest common denominator with a big budget film and Favreau delivers a movie with as much feeling as it has action and intensity. Needless to say, Robert Downey Jr. and company deliver the goods. It's a movie that has a wonderful balance that delivers intelligence with its fun. It is true the Marvel films have improved since they took over their own movies. I mean look at X-men I was really disappoint in it, and don't even get me started on the third one (I mean my god making the phoenix a mental disorder why........why would you turn a universal protector into this, someone give me an answer please.) And Cyclopes bring killed be Jean or rather the Phoenix, and the death of the prof this was wrong in so mean ways. What happen to Gambit, the raging Cajun some movie writer said that Gambit did not have a big enough part in the Marvel universal to add to the movie? Hello he did have his own comic book named after him mean anything to them. Then Fantastic Four came and that was not to bad, I liked that this one even know the changed Doc. Doom how they got his powers the same time as Johny, Reed, Sue, and Ben received their powers. Spider-man was good up any to the third movie that is. (OK my major beef with three is the way they used Venom. First the actor that played Eddie Brook was way to small body wise, people who read Spider-man know Eddie is a man build like a house and the symbiont makes him bigger. And the worst part was he refers to himself as I instead as We which was the whole thing around him an the alien. Eddie was not fully attested to the alien, now if they talk about Carnage they would be right. Then there was the Hulk what a crappy movie, I loved the old version with Bill Bixby and Lou Ferrigno that was a great way of showing the defence between the Hulk and Doctor David Banner. Anyways way that's all from me for now.
